Atlantis Community Housing develops accessible, affordable housing, empowering people with disabilities to thrive.
Beyond Housing
Belonging is more than an address. Atlantis Community Housing develops multifamily homes where people with disabilities don’t just live, they help shape the place, as neighbors, leaders, and friends, with access to every resource they need.
Rooted in Denver since 1998.

Where the Community
Comes Home
Since our founding in 1998, we’ve made more than 200 residential units available to individuals with disabilities and income-qualified families. We are dedicated to advancing permanent housing solutions through inclusive and accessible property development.
The Need in Colorado
In Colorado, over 90,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live with family caregivers, and nearly 20,000 of those caregivers are over 60. Investing in accessible housing is linked to roughly 40 percent lower Medicaid waiver costs.
We believe housing is a human right.
OUR HISTORY
Atlantis Community Housing (ACH) emerged from the groundbreaking disability rights movement. In 1975, Wade Blank, a visionary activist, founded Atlantis Community, Inc. (ACI), a pioneering independent living center. His work helped liberate people with severe disabilities from institutionalization, championing their right to live with autonomy and dignity. To address the critical need for housing, Atlantis Community Housing (ACH) was established in 1998 as a sister organization to ACI. Our specific mission is to help individuals with disabilities integrate into all aspects of society by ensuring the availability of accessible, affordable, and integrated housing.
